How do you play Alien Colonies?
Your account, a shared universe and the first steps of your space empire.
Can I play in my browser without installing anything?
Yes. Alien Colonies is an online space strategy game. Select “Play” to open the browser game, then sign in with Google or create your empire.
Can I use my Android account?
Yes. Sign in with the same Google account. Android and browser players share one universe, with the same colonies, resources and ongoing projects.
Do both versions have the same features?
In your browser, you can develop your economy, research technologies, build ships, send individual missions, chat and use the basic alliance features. Shared alliance fleet operation panels are not yet available in this version. The fleet guide explains these differences.
How do I create an account and choose a race?
Open the game, select “Continue with Google” and choose a name for your new empire. Your race choice is permanent, so first read our comparison of Zetans, Symbionts and Automatons.
Is this a multiplayer game?
Yes. Player empires exist in a shared galaxy. You can talk to other players, form alliances and send fleets on missions. The universe is also home to the AI-controlled Khar Swarm.
Do I need to stay logged in?
Production and projects already in progress continue while you are away, as long as the game server is running. Sign in again to see your empire’s latest progress.
How should I start developing my colony?
Check your resources, production and energy balance. Plan your first upgrades with the beginner’s guide, and before expanding, learn how to establish a second colony.
